Purpose
This is a semi-technical position that requires the skills and abilities needed to setup, configure, operate, and maintain Classroom Technologies and Media Services (CTMS) audio-visual resources to support events and classrooms. The employee will deal directly and assist the end-user either in instructional or event spaces in using CTMS resources either circulated or installed in AUC spaces. The employee will assist in the regular CTMS functions and services.
Principal Accountabilities:
- First level responsibility for the technical setup operation, and support of equipment and logistics for assigned campus wide CTMS services.
- Provide technical assistance to users in using CTMS equipment and technologies.
- Assist in equipment maintenance process.
- Make complete audio and/or video recordings of classes or events.
- Prepare simple, uncompressed or processed recordings for submission to service requestor
- Collect, transport, return to storage, and account for the resources used during work assignments.
- Take responsibility for CTMS assets deployed in event locations that are not secure and take proper steps to deter theft or vandalism.
- Maintain accurate and timely records regarding work assignments.
- Operate computing and presentation equipment for the duration of events/ classrooms as requested by the client and according to CTMS policies.
- Track and report equipment usage for the purpose of service and replacement planning.
- Report equipment or technical failures to proper person or service unit and follow-up until resolved
- Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and techniques.
- Perform other tasks as directed by Supervisors and Managers.
