Purpose To provide standard clinical nursing care to all AUC community and being on call in case of emergencies.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Prepare clients for and assist with examination and treatment.
- Safety administers medication and performs treatment to clients/ doctors order, such as, all routes of medication, including intravenous therapy, inhalation therapy, giving vaccines to both children and adults.
- Attends emergency call as fast as possible.
- Taking care of emergency clients in the absence of the physician and able to make decision.
- Keep patient under observation per doctors order.
- Assess, record, report any untoward signs with symptoms to attending physician.
- Conduct specified laboratory test (internal lab.) when it is necessary.
- Collect blood specimen and sent to external lab.
- Follow up lab results of clients and referring to attending doctor.
- Perform clerical job, such as, typing lab results, monthly and annual reports scanning internal and external lab results, working as receptionist at times.
- Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and medical supplies and ensure that all machines are functioning well otherwise reporting and sending for repair.
- Ensure the validity date of medication and medical supplies.
- Recognize the physiological /psychological needs of client and giving reassurance.
- Maintain clients privacy, security, and safety environment.
- Purchasing clinical supplies for ex. Laboratory kits and other supplies.
- All nursing procedures are done within the infection control protocol.
- Perform other duties assigned by my manager such as attending AUC parties and celebrations after working hours and during holidays.
- Maintain cleaning and orderliness of the unit.
