1- Work with project staff to develop a vegetables production training curriculum that (a) addresses critical weaknesses with project beneficiaries including smallholders, POs, university graduates, ATS students, operators, packhouse managers, service providres and logistics companies and (b) describes the best agricultural practices from handling to harvest.
2- The consultant will make several trips to the fields in Upper Egypt to (a) provide training to targeted beneficiaries and (b) identify training needs through a series of value chain stakeholder workshops. Training programs will be tailored for each governorate and sector.
3- Develop a ToT curriculum for local master trainers and university graduates.
4- Assess technical training needs of project farmers and training staff; and provide training to local trainers in each governorate to ensure that they are capable of effectively implementing the project interventions in their governorates.
4. DELIVERABLES:
Written report on results of training needs assessment;
Field ToT Curriculum that includes:
1. Clear description of training program outcomes
2. Identification of core competencies that must be strengthened in order for outcomes to be achieved. When relevant, core competencies should be differentiated by levels of mastery to help show progression in development efforts.
3. Detailed training session plans that address each core competency. A core competency may be addressed by multiple training sessions. Each training session description should include learning objectives, session schedule, necessary materials and a written description of each element of the ToT session.
Vegetable production program directed to small farmers for the project value chains with detailed description of best practices of every stage.
