
o Works independently at the service desk, assisting students, faculty and staff and performing a full range of Library services.
o Provides basic interpretation of policies and procedures including access and space usage; explains and answers questions that may arise.
o Prepares statistical reports of number of users in the Learning Commons during night shifts.
o Provides immediate, on-the-spot trouble-shooting for any problem confronted by users.
o Acts as the primary night shift contact for all University Security, Safety staff, and Facilities & Services staff within the Library and refers complex issues to Associate Director, Administrative Operations.
o Coordinates with the following departments the services they provide in the Library:
For Security and Safety:
o Refers violation cases to be handled by security staff. He is also responsible for reporting security-related issues to the Senior Security officer available in the building. Monitors security personnel placement which directly reflects on library building administration security measures.
o Acts as the building warden in case of evacuation during night shift.
For Facilities and Services:
o Monitors the proper functioning of Library facilities and requests any needed maintenance.
o Coordinates with Maintenance Department issues and problems that may arise.
o Develops and implements the schedule for the companys housekeeping services for Library building public areas. Handles staff, faculty, and students complaints and submits written reports to Associate Director, Administrative operations.
o Works other shifts if needed.
o Performs other related duties as assigned.
